As an award-winning web and graphic designer, Rene Folsom has always grasped the ability to transform information into art. My dear Ms. Folsom, I must say that I was shocked–SHOCKED!–to see how graphic in nature your novellas SOUL SEERS #1 and HEART YOU were. Aren’t you concerned at all about the delicate sensibilities of reader’s like myself?
Why exactly would you read anything for adults only if your sensitive? That is sounds really silly. And them to have 2 half nakes photos of girls on your facebook page is surely sensitive. Im shocked too Rene because u should be famous and your not.
Hmmm. If they’re supposed to be ADULT books, why would you be shocked? And like Savannah mentioned, you have to semi-naked girls on your profile pic, and you have the gall to complain? Though I have not read either books, I’m pretty sure they have some kind of warning on there stating they’re for adults only. Your comment Mr. Grayson is VERY hypocritical, at the very least.
Honestly. Have you not heard of E L James yet? She’s made billions out of her three graphic novels so there must be a whole lot of SENSITIVE readers out there who crave to get down and dirty in private. If you don’t like it, put it down and stop reading!

I am very flattered my writing “shocks” you. It means I’m doing something right. 😉
The word shocked is a positive reaction to me. This tells me my words hit you to your core. Some of those feelings may be positive, others may be negative.
The act of sex is a natural thing. Every person has different sexual activities they enjoy. The same goes for reading… every person has different tastes—different delicate sensibilities. It is impossible for one writer to make every reader happy. I have already had people reject my story “Heart You” because of its length (or lack there of). The reaction didn’t offend me because I know that is their preference
And to support all my other defenders out there, all of my adult novelettes are marked as such. I make sure to let each reader know the level of hotness before they hit that purchase button. So, if they end up being shocked and offended with me sharing such a natural, primal act as sex, the responsibility is not on my shoulders.

Of course, you would ask THAT question! I knew it was bound to come up. Everyone loves to ask the erotica author what inspires her to write. LOL
In all seriousness though, these books have some great stories behind them that prompted me to write. That being said, I have to initially point out that I never had the desire to write until I fell into my reading addiction. Great authors are almost always the first and foremost inspiration of any new (and sometimes seasoned) authors.
Voices of the Soul was initially written for the Paranormal Anthology with a Twist. Prompts were given which allowed me just enough inspiration to spark my creativity. Within the story, several real-life experiences inspire my character building. I am a sculptor/potter by heart—I love it. So, readers will often find my characters based around the experiences that have touched me throughout my life—art being a HUGE inspiration.
Heart You was actually started as a minor Valentine’s Day challenge on a Goodreads group thread. The poster gave these prompts and asked us to write a short story: “I thought this might be fun. I know we all like to show off what we can do. I am going to give you a few prompts and you give me a short story of a few paragraphs! A love triangle, Valentine’s Day, Candy Conversation Hearts, Black Roses, and Water Balloons…” Of course, I can never stick to just a few paragraphs—I am way too wordy for that. But, the prompts immediately brought a story to mind and I was able to expand on it further from there.
So, to sum up my essay of a reply, life experiences are my main inspirations for my character and scene development. Participating in fun challenges and anthologies also help spark my interest.
