Book Review: The Whole Golden World by Kristina Riggle

TheWholeGoldenWorldReviewed by S. Cu’Anam Policar for Say What? Savannah Mae (11/13)

The copy of this book I was given is an ARC, so I will speak of no errors I may have or may not have found.

This book follows the lives of 4 people, 2 families, and one small town. Morgan and her calculus teacher start an affair that shatters the peaceful little town they live in when they get caught. In a tale of scandal, betrayal, lies, and love this story unfolds in ways that will have the reader snared and turning page after page to know what happens next.

The story is beautifully written, and just descriptive enough to allow the reader to see what should be seen and feel the emotions of each scene and each character’s point of view. I would have to say the one thing I took the most out of this, is that no matter how “good” a child is, letting them have free reign to do whatever they want with no known boundaries will eventually cause a problem or two that can’t just be grounded away.

I would recommend this book to an adult audience due to the sexual content (though not too graphic, it is graphic enough), and anyone who likes real life scenario dramas.

I hope the author considers a sequel for this book, even if it’s just a small novella so we readers can see how things turn out for Morgan, Rain, and TJ. It was TJ’s last thought at the end of the book that put the thought in my head to know what happens next.

All in all, this is a wonderful story that will touch on array of emotions but will be enjoyed by all fans of the genre.
