Submit a Book

Books received will be added to my Pending List and will be reviewed in the order that I receive them. I have a lengthy wait list as review requests pile in weekly so turnaround time cannot be determined at this time. I am a one-woman-show and I give attention to each and every book that I read. Please understand this as I do not push out tons a reviews each week.

By default, reviews are posted to this website (or to Say What? Savannah Mae Kids for kids books), Amazon, Barnes & Noble and GoodReads. You will also receive a PDF copy of your review, provided I have your contact information.  Enhanced review publicity options are available. Once the review is completed, you will be contacted with additional options. **please make sure to include with your submission**

I do not charge for reviews! You will never be asked to pay for a review.

Books are reviewed and posted regardless of my rating. I will not remove reviews from my website because an author does not like the review. If you ask for a review, you will get an honest review. No exceptions, good or bad. I pride myself in being optimistic and as positive as possible.

What kind of books do I review? I review pretty much all genres, in both fiction and non-fiction. Indies & small press publishers are ALWAYS welcome here!

Here is a simple breakdown of books I am more likely not interested in:

*Epic/Sword & Sorcery Fantasy – This is a big one right? Sorcery, trolls, elves, dwarfs and fantasy with made up languages are easier for me to watch than to read. For example: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Game of Thrones etc. However- I love other elements of Fantasy like witches, vamps, demons, zombies, fairies as well as other sub-genres.

*Religious Non-Fiction
– My own spiritual self leaves me open-minded to the world and many different religious beliefs. I prefer to remain neutral and respectfully opt-out from this genre.

*Romance
– I know…kill the blogger right? I do not dig romance that is easily achieved or mushy love stories. I love to read romance but lately have been sorely let down by many that I have read. This genre is one that I am the most critical with. It may not be the popular choice but for me- it is what it is.

  2. Hi, Savannah Mae! I just completed my book review submission information to you, and I will send you a hard copy of “Good Wife Gone Bad” the mail tomorrow. This is my first book, and it’s a true story about my “former” life. I hope you will enjoy reading it! I understand that you have many books to read before mine, but I hope you will let me know when you begin to read it, so that I will have an idea of the timeframe of your review. You are so kind to help authors get noticed!!!! Thank you so much.

      • Savannahmae, did you ever read my book that I sent you? I sent it two years ago…….. I know you must have oodles of books to read, but I’m hoping mine didn’t get lost in the bunch!

      • I sent my book “Gift of a Lifetime: Finding Fulfilling Things in the Unexpected” approximately 8 months ago and I was wondering if it has been reviewed. Sue Batton Leonard

  4. Savannah Mae: I will be sending you via USPS a copy my book for review. It is called “Gift of a Lifetime:Finding Fulfilling Things in the Unexpected.” I appreciate your focus on the independents, as too many independently published books do not get enough attention. That is why I began my company http://www.AllThingsFulfilling.com back in 1998 – specializing in e-commerce and e-marketing for independent publishers.
My publication is available in print, e-book and soon to be available in audio book format but I will be sending you a book in print for review. Thank you.

    • It is so hard for indies to get attention. I was scouting bloggers for a promotion I am running and I have found that so many refuse self-published literature. For those that refuse it are missing out on great storytelling. While I still read books from traditional publishers, I focus mainly on the indie. I am so happy that so many trust me with their works. It warms my heart. I love what I do and I am happy to be a part of such an amazing community of authors. xo

  5. Are you currently reviewing books? I think you mentioned that you weren’t some time ago, but I’m hoping you are again. I have a middle grade mystery titled The Cemetery Sleeper that I’d love to have you look at.

    • Hello, I had corresponded previously with you, and then realized that you may charge a fee for your review service. Could you please straighten me out on that matter, and let me know if you do charge for your reviews and what is the fee? Thank you! • Thanks for your reply. I am on the road on a book tour right now but I will be sending you a copy in about a month or so. Sue Leonard author Gift of A Lifetime: Finding Fulfilling Things in the Unexpected Winner of two EVVY book awards
