A Little About Savannah, yea that’s me!
I am from North Carolina and that is where my southern twang was born. I love the south but had to get up and leave my home town when I was 19. I took a gamble and headed to South Florida and remained there for just over 9 years. While the beach is lovely, I quickly learned it was one of those places a southern girl should really only visit to enjoy. I met lots of awesome people and I grew up. I spent my entire 20’s in Florida where living there included fun things like heart breaks and friendships gone bad. I like to consider that time there my learning phase. In 2010, shortly after having my son, I packed up my Cherokee and moved us to Austin, Texas.

A lot of people have a terrible misconception about Texas. I can’t speak for the entire state but here in Austin you will find the “weirdest” of them all. Austin is filled with so many different kinds of people. Some wear cowboy boots & ten gallon hats and others, like me, just wear sneakers or flip flops. We have lots of live music and independent artists. I fell in love with Austin because the people are southern but in a big’ol city. When I first got here, I got lost. I had this smart phone and never really knew how smart it was. I spent a lot of time getting lost when all along I had a navigation app that could have made my first year much easier. But who would have thought of that anyway?

It has taken me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. As most of you may already know, I am a single mom. Miles & I started out reviewing books for Reader Views Kids. I figured it would be a great way to get some cool books for the kiddo because I surely don’t have a ton of money. I have been reviewing with my son for over 2 years now. Reviewing has lead me to a full-swing career move. I don’t have many talents like these awesome authors but I figured since I am good with running my mouth, maybe I should read books too. Set a good example. I started working doing some contract work for a publicity company and my good friend Susan told me I need to start my own blog and do my own thing.

I laughed. I said to her something to the effect of…who reads blogs? Blogging is stupid. I checkout wordpress and started a blog. Next thing I know I have over 1,000 followers and book review requests coming out of the sky. Now look at me. I am so obsessed. Blogging isn’t so stupid after all. I have made some awesome friends along the way.

in my free time, I sit here and come up with creative ideas to help these starving Indie authors. Little by little, I have helped some of them. Things like sharing on Facebook and hosting giveaways. As the days go by, I get more and more requests to review books. Seems like a lot of people care what I think about their books. That is really amazing and I am so thankful for each and every one of you.

I am just this blogger sitting behind a Dell laptop typing away. No matter what, I love the Indies I work with and I love to write my book reviews. I hope you enjoy reading them and find some cool books to check out. Below you will find some featured books. Consider checking them out. If you buy a book, be so kind and leave a review. It doesn’t have to be the length of a term paper, it should be fun and honest. Authors love to hear what readers have to say and even if it is less than 5 stars, they appreciate the feedback.

I am looking for more kiddo’s to review books for my children’s site so click the link and fill out the app if you are interested. Keep scrolling and see what is going on in my world. I would love to hear from you too. Feel free to comment on my posts and tell me what you think! Don’t forget about the giveaway too. These authors want to give you a paperback!

Check out this month’s featured books!

    Good luck.
